Island of Roatan, Honduras
As you dock at Roatan's sparkling new Mahogany Cruise Center, you'll know you are in for a unique and distinctly Caribbean experience. Mahogany Beach
The moment you step ashore in the new cruise port of Mahogany Bay, you'll find shops, restaurants and bars as well as a ski-style chair-lift that will give you a bird's-eye view as it transports you over tree tops to pristine Mahogany Beach, where you'll find a resort setting with a children's play area, beach cabanas and crystal clear waters.
Gumbalimba Preservation Park
At Gumbalimba Preservation Park, delight in watching the free-flying scarlet macaws, hold a juvenile monkey, explore a re-creation of a pirate cave, and roam through the Botanical Garden and learn about many of the indigenous plants of this region.
Copan Ruins
These superb ruins with intricate carvings predate most European civilizations. Unique among Mayan cities, the huge complex consists of several plazas, an Acropolis with many temples built on various levels as well as tunnels. The many different areas of Copan offer visitors a feast of Mayan artifacts to discover.
Sandy Bay
Sandy Bay is the cultural center of Roatan. Among the places to visit are the Roatan Museum, Institute of Marine Sciences, the Carambola Gardens and Marine Reserve.
